About
A contractor that's quietly proud of the boring bits.
Burhouse Construction has been operating across South Yorkshire since 2003. We're a family-built business that grew up the slow way, by being asked back.

Our story, briefly
We started as a two-person residential outfit working out of Doncaster. Twenty-odd years later we're a mid-sized contractor running multi-disciplinary programmes across education, commercial, industrial and residential.
What hasn't changed is the working principle. We turn down work we don't believe we can deliver properly. We staff projects so people aren't burnt out by month three. And we treat every snagging list like it's the most important thing on the desk.
The result is a client list that mostly came back, and a workforce that mostly stayed. We're quietly proud of both.
What we mean by "with a conscience"
It's an easy tagline to put on a hoarding. It's a harder one to back up in a wet February. These are the four commitments we try to live by, on every job.
Honest programmes
We tell you what we genuinely think the job will take, not what we think you want to hear. We'd rather lose a tender than win it on a programme that won't survive contact with the weather.
Local first
We use local subcontractors wherever we credibly can. Better turn-up rates, better snagging, and the money stays in the area we work in.
Safety as standard
Internal H&S stats published every Monday. Welfare facilities we'd be happy to use. No incentives that quietly push corners to be cut.
Finish properly
Most contractors are great at week one. We try to be great at week thirty. Snags closed in 48 hours, handover packs that actually make sense.
